My studio visit with Hans Hendley for American Perfumer®

Back in May I met with Indi-Artisan Perfumer Hans Hendley, Hendley Perfumes. We talked shop, geeked out on raw materials, and smelled each others fragrances. We took a deep-dive into his profound BLOODLINE, a limited-edition for AMERICAN PERFUMER®. Bloodline is a scented portrait of his childhood Texas landscape, red cedar is highlighted in the formula. I soon found out his well-considered collection reflects his rigor and discipline.

Hans admired my Tangerine Linden. While I was working on it, a rabbit began to visit my backyard in the morning and in the late afternoon, around the same time my son wanted to start blending too. The combination of my son working on his blend and the rabbit visiting influenced how I crafted Tangerine Linden. I wanted to capture curiosity, ease, and delicacy in a perfume. There is also lots of Atlas Cedar and Cedarwood in the formula too, cedar trees are so important to me.
